Female. Total length 4.61–4.64. Cephalothorax 2.01–2.02 long, 1.75–1.76 wide. Carapace red brown with many small tubercles. Anterior eye row almost straight and posterior eye row recured in dorsal view. AME 0.12, ALE 0.12, PME 0.10, PLE 0.10; AME–AME 0.10, AME–ALE 0.07; PME–PLE 0.19; MOA wider than long (0.34: 0.31), wider in front than beind (0.34: 0.26). Chelicera brown with three teeth on promargin and two teeth on retromargin. Labium and endites yellow brown, labium wider than long. Leg I with ventral cusps on the last three segments. Measurement of legs: 14.68, " 4.42, III 3.51, IV 3.93. Abdomen gray with longitudinal black and transverse white stripes. Epigynum with anterior margin, M–shaped. Male. Total length 3.04. Cephalothorax l.44 long, l.18 wide. Measurement of legs: I 3.88, II 3.35, III 2.72, IV 3.6l. Palp with an apical retrolateral tibial apophysis. Leg I with ventral cusps (Fig. 7). Remarks. Trachelas acuminus is similar to T. barroanus Chamberlin, 1925 from Panama, but differs by the female epigymum with two intromittent orifices, and by the male palp with a longer apical tibial apophysis. Based on Platnick and Ewing (1995), T. acuminus is newly transfered to Trachelas because this species has ventral cusps on Leg I .
